Advice from the Experts
Proper
Tire Pressure

Bike Fit
Proper
Tire Pressure
It's
Spring time and everyone
is getting their bikes dusted
off due to the change in
weather. Proper tire pressures
is often overlooked... Low
tire pressure will make
bike riding much more difficult
and result in more flats.
Stamped somewhere on the
sidewall of the tire will
be "minimum" and
"maximum" tire
pressures. Always keep your
tires inflated towards the
"maximum" recommended
pressure. Keeping the chain
properly lubricated is most
important too. Please don't
wait till it squeaks before
you think about lubricating
your chain. Also, make sure
your wheels are spinning
freely. Make sure your brakes
stop the bike (before you
become Speed Racer). Most
of all make sure the helmet
you are putting on fits
correctly. Safety First!
I love cycling and enjoy
watching others grow with/into
a fun sport/hobby.

Proper
Bike Fit
Proper
choice and fit when buying
a new bicycle: Road, TRI
and mountain bikes all fit
differently. Not all size
mediums measure the same....
Rider variables such as
height, inseam, flexibility,
balance and overall coordination
should be taken into consideration
when shopping for a new
"bicycle store"
bike. (this doesn't apply
to department store bicycles...sorry)
We see far too many misinformed
and or ill-informed "ebay
bicycle" purchases
and 9 out of 10 times it
costs more to make it ride
worthy/safe and it doesn't
even fit its new owner.
Spend some time to shop
around, narrow it down to
a handful of makes/models
and make sure the shop/person
you are working with listens
to your requests and answers
your questions. Test rides
are of the utmost importance!!!
Take notes and don't make
a hasty decision.
