Advice from the Experts
When
choosing a handrail, fence
or gate it's very tempting
to go with tig welded aluminum
because it's thrown up really
fast, it's cheap and it
looks durable. Until you
touch it, they are very
flimsy. If you want a sturdy
structure, go with steel.
Unlike the aluminum structures
I see all over Northern
Delaware and South Eastern
PA, steel is welded together,
not screwed. When you choose
steel instead of aluminum
your choosing a product
that will last several lifetimes.
So if your concerned about
resale value, durability
and ultimately cost considering
replacement, go with steel.
I've seen wood fire escapes
all over Wilmington and
West Chester, it doesn't
make sense to me. If your
in a burning building do
you want a wood fire escape
or a steel one? Steel window
guards are also a wise choice.
A good set of steel window
guards will prevent burglaries
and home invasions and I've
been told will lower your
insurance payments.
